EUROPEAN CUSTOM TAILOR · PORTO

Created around the individual.

Cloth, construction and proportions selected for your garment and its purpose.

Three approaches. A clear choice.

Our starting point is The European System by Eduardo Xavier: the foundation of our process and our vision of personal image. Before choosing a fabric, we understand the person: your proportions and posture, your lifestyle, your responsibilities and what you want to communicate.

This understanding guides the cut, cloth, construction and personalisation. We help you choose between Made to Measure, Custom-Made and Bespoke to suit your occasion and budget. Prices vary with the method, cloth and details. Custom-Made and Made to Measure options made in Italy are also available.

FABRIC · FIT · PERSONALISATION

A fine suit begins with the fibre. And takes shape in the cut.

The value of a suit comes from the combination of its cloth and the work that shapes it. We help you understand what you are choosing, what changes the price and how each decision affects comfort, drape and your overall appearance.

Superfine Wool & Super S

Superfine Wool refers to very fine wool. A Super S number, such as Super 100s or Super 150s, classifies the mean diameter of the wool fibres: the higher the number, the finer the fibre. It is not a thread count or a complete quality score. Fineness contributes to softness; suitability for frequent wear also depends on how the cloth is made.

The fibres behind the price

Fibre type, fineness, length, consistency and rarity influence the value of the raw material. Wool, cashmere, mohair, silk and linen bring different properties to a cloth. A more exclusive fibre can raise the price, but the right choice must also suit the season, the occasion and how often you will wear the suit.

What makes a good cloth

Good cloth balances handle, drape, breathability and the demands of wear. Yarn twist, weave, weight and finishing all contribute to that balance. The quality of spinning, weaving and finishing also affects the price. We select for the purpose: a working wardrobe, frequent travel and a ceremonial suit can call for different cloths.

Fit, construction & the finished look

The same cloth can produce very different results. Shoulder balance, posture, jacket length, waist shaping and trouser line determine how the suit sits and moves on you. Pattern development, internal construction, handwork, fittings and adjustments contribute to the price of the garment, separately from the cost of its cloth. A well-considered fit brings proportion and coherence to the whole look.

Personalisation with purpose.

Lapel shape and width, pockets, lining, buttons, trouser details and embroidery are considered as part of a complete look. The available choices and any additional costs depend on the method, fabric and technical feasibility. We guide these decisions so that personalisation serves your proportions, your style and the occasion.

Why choose our approach?

Made to Measure, Custom-Made and Bespoke offer different levels of pattern development, construction and fitting. Their value lies in combining specialist tailoring methods, carefully selected cloth and individual guidance. We explain the differences and recommend the right level for you, including Made in Italy options. With Bespoke, the garment is refined through 4 to 6 fittings in our atelier.

Why do package prices vary?

We help you choose for your occasion, proportions and budget. The European System by Eduardo Xavier begins with how you live and what you need your image to communicate.

Cloth and fibres

Fibre type, fineness, rarity, composition, weave, finish and mill affect cost and performance. A higher Super S number describes finer wool fibres; it is not an overall quality score or automatically the best choice for daily wear.

Construction and fit

Made to Measure, Custom-Made and Bespoke involve different pattern development, construction and fitting work. Options made in Italy are available. Bespoke involves 4 to 6 fittings; the chosen method is stated in the quotation.

Personalisation

Lapels, linings, buttons, pockets and trouser details are selected as a coherent whole. Technical complexity and additional options can affect the price.

What is included

Compare garment quantities, accessory specifications and services, not only the headline price. Wedding-day dressing is included in Gold, Platinum and Diamond wedding packages, subject to agreed arrangements.

Individual garments and accessories

Commission individual pieces or build a coordinated ensemble. These are starting prices for entry options, not prices for every cloth or construction method.
